Business giant to speak at dinner

The founder and chairman of Cobra Beer will be making a guest appearance at a business dinner at a Mansfield college this week.

Lord Karan Bilimoria, CBE DL, who is also senior non-executive director of the Booker Plc FTSE 250 company, will be sharing the Cobra Beer success story with sixty business guests at West Nottinghamshire College’s Refined fine dining restaurant on Friday evening (22 November).

Hosted by principal and chief executive Asha Khemka OBE, the dinner will welcome key business and political leaders from Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Lord Bilimoria will talk to guests about the international phenomenon that is Cobra Beer and his philosophy as one of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs.

He will engage business leaders in a discussion about growth within our region. Following Lord Bilimoria’s presentation there will be opportunity for guests to quiz the business tycoon.

Lord Blimoria is well known in international business circles. In 2006, he was appointed Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea, making him the first Zoroastrian peer. In 2008 he was awarded the Pravasi Bharti Samman by the President of India. He is one of two visiting entrepreneurs at Cambridge University and founding board director of the E2Exchange, a networking organisation for some of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs.

Guests at the dinner will include business leaders from organisations such as Lloyds TSB, Rolls Royce, British Gas and Center Parcs, along with councillors, college governor and representatives from the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce.
