Hymns for Robots at college theatre

West Nottinghamshire College’s Create Theatre will be bringing a musical story to the stage – all about the life of the woman who wrote the Doctor Who theme.

Hymns for Robots will delight audiences with electronic music

On Monday 4 March Hymns For Robots follows the life and work of Delia Derbyshire, writer of the Doctor Who theme and a trailblazer of electronic music.

Join Noctium from 7-8pm as they explore this fascinating tale of the mother of modern music. Using strange sounds and weird wobbulations, Noctium brings you a sonic experience your ears won’t believe.

Hymns for Robots mixes Noctium’s unique heightened performance style with analogue and digital music to bring you an extraordinary life that was almost forgotten.

The performance contains some strong language and sexual references so is recommended for ages 14+. This performance features live captioning and is accessible for d/Deaf/hard of hearing audiences. To access the captioning, please download ‘The Difference Engine’ app to your smartphone.

Tickets cost £8 standard, £5 for students and £6 for concessions. There is a special discount online to get tickets for £5 if you quote the password DALEK1. Visit https://www.createtheatre.co.uk/Whats-On.aspx to purchase.
