Students to talk education and culture with VIP

Over fifty learners at West Nottinghamshire College will be discussing education and culture with a member of the Indian Foreign Service next week.

The Consul General of India, Mr C Gururaj Rao, will be joining students from across the college’s curriculum areas on Friday (28 January) for a question and answer session based around the ethics of education and Indian culture.

Mr Rao, who is based at the Consulate General of India in Birmingham, commenced in his role in 2009.  The Consulate General of India office deals with passport and citizenship issues for people of Indian origin based in the UK.

Mr Rao holds a Master’s degree in Science (Genetics) with distinction and will be hearing students’ views on further and higher education while also sharing his experience of education and culture in India.

After his time with the students Mr Rao will be meeting with college principal and chief executive Asha Khemka OBE and tour a number of the college's sites in Mansfield and Ashfield.
