There's more choice of university-level programmes at West Nottinghamshire College

West Nottinghamshire College has expanded its university-level provision and is now offering six top-up courses enabling students to achieve an Honours Degree, while studying locally.

Validated by the University of Derby, students who have previously studied a foundation degree or an HND can now ‘top up’ to a full degree on:

BA (Hons) Education Studies
BA (Hons) Sport Studies
BA (Hons) Applied Studies (Music)
BA (Hons) Applied Studies (Theatre)
BA (Hons) Criminal Justice

The new programmes join the current BA (Hons) Business and management which has been on the curriculum since 2008 and is validated by Birmingham City University, as well as foundation degrees, HNDs and HNCs.

As part of the college’s building programme, it has also created a dedicated university centre offering a self-study area and social space for its university-level students at the Derby Road campus, which will be formally opened in the new year.

Head of Higher Education and International Eleanor Taylor said: “Over the last year we’ve seen an increase in applications for our top up awards and it’s obvious more people are choosing to stay close to home to achieve their full Honours degree.

“We’re proud to be able to offer local people a real opportunity to study a university-level course who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford university fees or the chance to move away from home due to family or work commitments.”

People can find out more about university-level courses at the college at the open evening on Wednesday 20 November from 6-8pm at the Derby Road campus or by calling 0808 100 3626 or emailing the team at heteam@wnc.ac.uk
